Recipe for Wings with Berry Balsamic BBQ Sauce

Wings with Berry Balsamic BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed berries, rough chop {I used strawberries, blackberries & raspberries}
  • 1/4 balsamic vinegar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 3 lbs wingettes & drumettes

Instructions

  1. Mix the fruit, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, water, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a saucepan over medium low heat. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Using an immersion or hand blender smooth out the bbq sauce. Season again with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. For the wings. I always toss my wings in salt and pepper to make sure that the chicken itself is seasoned. Place onto a hot grill and cook for about 15-18 mins or until cooked through {the cooking time may vary depending on your grill}.
  3. After the wings are cooked go ahead and toss in a large bowl with just enough of the sauce to coat the wings.
