Orange Supreme Key Lime Powdered Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 box Duncan Hines Orange Supreme cake mix
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- 1 large egg
- Key lime powdered sugar for the topping (Pelican Bay Key Lime Cookie Mix)
- Canola Oil Spray
Instructions
- Spray 2 cake pans or cookie sheets and set aside. In a bowl, pour the cake mix in and then the oil and butter. You’ll need to get your hands in the batter to form the cookie dough. I had to work with it a little and yes it’s messy but I love it!!! I formed a big ball and then I let it sit for about 5 minutes before I formed my cookie balls.
- Then I shaped each one into medium balls maybe 1 or 1-1/2? thick but I made them all the same size so they would cook evenly at the same time. Place them in the pans and leave a little room between each one so they have room to expand. Bake at 325 degrees F for 15 to 20 minutes. You’ll know they’re done if you do the toothpick trick and the bottoms are just golden brown. Don’t move them right away. Let cool for about 10 to 15 minutes before you remove them from the pan. A couple of mine still broke a bit but after you drizzle the key lime powdered sugar (I had a bunch left over so I saved it) on top, it can cover up imperfections!
