Wings with Berry Balsamic BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 cups mixed berries, rough chop {I used strawberries, blackberries & raspberries}
- 1/4 balsamic vinegar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tbsp garlic powder
- salt & pepper to taste
- 3 lbs wingettes & drumettes
Instructions
- Mix the fruit, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, water, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a saucepan over medium low heat. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Using an immersion or hand blender smooth out the bbq sauce. Season again with salt and pepper to taste.
- For the wings. I always toss my wings in salt and pepper to make sure that the chicken itself is seasoned. Place onto a hot grill and cook for about 15-18 mins or until cooked through {the cooking time may vary depending on your grill}.
- After the wings are cooked go ahead and toss in a large bowl with just enough of the sauce to coat the wings.
