Double Layer Crumb Cake

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ yogurt
  • 3 cups flour
  • Crumbs:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1 tbs. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbs. cocoa powder
  • ½ cup butter
  • 4-5 chocolate chip cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven 350 degrees:
  2. In a mix-master combine the sugars, vanilla and the butter and cream. Add the eggs and continue to cream.
  3. In a bowl combine the milk and the yogurt and mix with a fork.
  4. In a large bowl combine the flour, salt and baking powder. Slowly add to the mix-master alternating with the milk mixture.
  5. Add all of the ingredients for the crumb mixture in a food processor and process until crumbs are formed.
  6. Prepare a baking pan with butter.
  7. Place half of the batter in the prepared pan and then a cover with half of the crumb mixture. Cover with the remaining batter and cover the top with the crumb mixture.
  8. Bake 45-50 minutes or until the toothpick test comes out clean.
